Speaker information:

Jon Lunn

Senior Consultant - Data & Analytics

Ricoh Digital Services

Hello, I'm Jon, a Data & Analytics Consultant focused on the Microsoft SQL Server Platform and the Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS stack of tools, such as Azure SQL Database, Data Factory and other Azure services. I’ve also been using the Google Cloud stack, such as Big Query, Spanner and creating functions. I find that approaching clients with the vision of ‘Outcomes, not solutions’ helps find the right technology for what the client needs. See my 'Recent Projects' in my current role for more info. Most of my work is in the architecture, design and implementation of Data Warehouses/Marts and other analytical databases. As well as implementing the technology, I do Technical Pre-Sales, helping the client understand the technology and matching it with their business requirements. After Implementation I also lead training workshops currently focused on self-service technology such as Power BI Desktop, I also work on the internal Ricoh projects such as Ricoh Smart Suite https://myworkplace.app, as a senior data engineer, pulling data from CosmosDB and IoT sensors, using a multi cloud vendor approach. I'm passionate about turning data in information and report design, and how the cognitive process perceives and understands information, and lecture on the subject to SQL user groups. Outside my job role, I have contributed to the Ricoh Digital Service vision of how we want to evolve as a division in terms of strategy and outcomes, taken the Azure AD and Linked-In photos for Ricoh Digital Services and currently organising the internal Mario Kart 64 Kontest! Before the purchase of Ridgian by Ricoh I used to write articles about BI trends and technology on the company blog, since then I now have my own at https://jlsql.blog. Specialities: SSIS, SSAS, SSAS Tabular, SSRS, ETL, Kimball Dimensional Modelling, T-SQL, SQL tuning, Power BI, DAX, M, MDX, Azure Services
